is a representative office of Australian Mercy. We have been resident and active in the city of Chongqing, China since 2002.
Our vision is to see the municipality of Chongqing, and its people impacted through mercy and compassion. We are currently involved in areas of medical and orphan work here in the city, thanks to strong relationships with various branches of the Chongqing government. We work in a number of areas some of which are listed below.
Through our volunteer program, we seek to provide opportunities for individuals to serve within their communities. We believe this will not only have an impact upon the areas in which volunteers serve, but will also bring transformation to greater society as people learn the value of serving those around them.
We place children in local families who will care for them until they are able to be adopted into a forever family.
We serve in local orphanages helping with their daily activities and supplying them with volunteers to help in planned and unplanned avctivities. We seek to assist them by coming alongside and offering helps as we can, staff training, educational needs, painting facilities or funding needed repairs are somne of our activities.
Our volunteers assist the Chongqing Children Welfare Institute. We help the foster home mothers with any housework, cooking, or cleaning that may be needed as well as to build relationships with the children in that home fulfilling the big brother/sister role so desperately needed by many of the children
We create a family where children can be fostered while they are in transition to find adoptive families. We focus on children who have a medical need that requires care beyond what an orphanage can provide for them. We desire to be a family to these children while we help to find families that are able to permanently adopt them. We also take children in to the home or short periods to help them with medical checks that can’t be done in the cities their orphanage is.
We have been able to provide short-term opportunities for volunteers with English proficiency to help with translation of needed materials and documents.
From assisting in acute medical situations to regular health care ARMS volunteers are active at all levels.
