Australian Mercy has been involved in international development for more than 20 years.
We run our own development projects through the ARMS Overseas Aid Fund. Donations to projects run from this fund are tax deductible for Australian donors. (More information about the ARMS Overseas Aid Fund can be found in our FAQ section. Information about tax deductibility for US and Canadian donors can be found here.)
Australian Mercy Projects
Currently we have projects in Thailand, Burma / Myanmar, East Timor, PNG, Indonesia and Cambodia registered through the fund. Other projects will soon come on line. Tax deductibility for disasters is obtained on a disaster by disaster basis.
However, not all projects are tax deductible. They must first meet the criteria of and be registered under the ARMS Overseas Aid Fund before tax deductibility applies. If you require a tax deductible receipt for an Australian Mercy international project please check first to find out if it is tax deductible or not. (In the giving section, as you enter your details the drop down menu labelled donation target lists what projects are tax deductible which one are not.)
Other Projects
Australian Mercy also works with other Australian and In-Country Delivery Organisations (ICDOs) to provide relief and development programs to needy people in countries that have been declared to be Developing Countries by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Projects can be brought to the attention of the Australian Mercy Board by downloading the expression of Interest (EOI)documentation from our website and lodging it with the Australian Mercy Board.
